About Us

Co-Founder & Director

Paul has 13 years of experience in the energy industry, including more than a decade as a wells engineer with a global energy company, managing over US$100 million in well engineering projects across design, construction, maintenance, and decommissioning.

He holds a mechanical engineering degree from the University of Calgary and a Master of Science in well design, where his research focused on large-bore wells for underground hydrogen storage. 

Co-Founder & Chief Technology Officer

Derek is an Associate Professor at the University of Texas at Austin, where he earned his bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees. Before joining the faculty he spent eight years as a Senior Research Engineer in the National Security Directorate at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. Derek supported the initial feasibility studies in 2020 and joined NuWells as CTO in 2024. His deep understanding of nuclear safety and regulatory requirements anchors NuWells' path to deployment.  

Co-Founder

Lyndon has spent his career in the energy transition, with a focus on decarbonizing Alberta's oil and gas industry. He began in technology development, helping companies scale from benchtop to commercial deployment, and has supported major producers in developing their net-zero strategies.

Lyndon joined NuWells in 2024 as a co-founder, contributing to the company's early development and vision.
